Does play fighting ever mean anything more than friendliness?

Does play fighting usually mean flirting? I know it is so childish but as adults does it mean interest?

My friend thinks this guy at work wants me. I am not sure. This guy and i have seen eachother at work for over a year but we barely started talking at work a few months ago. We're both shy at first so it wasn't that easy. It started when he would ask me for help finding things. All of a sudden, he started being playfully mean to me so i was mean back. That is the best way to get me to open up. So now everytime we see eachother, we threaten eachother and argue about the dumbest things. When we started talking, he put something on instagram that said that fighting was flirting.

Now, he is starting to mimick my voice and make fun of how soft it is. I was walking by the other day and he asked another coworker, "would you ever take her serious if she was trying to fight you?" And they just laughed and the guy i like said, "aww. You're so... nah..." he passes by my department more often so i see him a lot now.

The other day my friend said he talked to him for the first time. The guy i like told him this girl my friend used to work with was hot. But then i walked by and i saw both of them look at me and the guy just got quiet and walked away.

My friend saw us "fighting" the other day and thinks the guy wants me but I don't know. he's confusing. Maybe all this fighting is just friendly banter?

then he does i believe. he's teasin u in a playful way... i don't think he was threatin u... yet i think he sounds kinda immature actually judgin by da way he acts. i believe if he didn't like u then he'd not bother at all perhaps

I know he's just teasing. I dont take his threats seriously and he doesn't take my threats seriously. Yeah he seems a bit immature but im the same way. Im 3 years older than him, im 23 he's 20 but i dont mind it. I like this. Its more fun than being serious all the time.

But yeah thats true. a lot of people at work tease me too but not like him. So I don't know. Im not sure what to do about this then

He definitely sounds like he wants you. Sounds like the type that's too shy to actually open up and ask you out.

Maybe.. He does seem kind of shy. When i first met him, he used to get really shy and would blush when people would compliment him. it seems like he has opened up a bit more, just like me but i can see that he may be alittle shy.

Yes, of course it does. It usually means that both parts feel comfortable touching each other.

oh well, we're not at the touching stage yet. i wouldn't mind though :D

I think he's too nervous. one day i told him to do something for me and he told me he would show me how to do it so i went to the back with him and i was on the computer and it looked like he wanted to stand behind me but he stopped himself and just stood next to me instead.

Even playful vocal fighting is an indication of attraction. He's definitely interested.
