Girls, What exactly does it mean to stroke a guy's male ego?

My friend said that had stroked my boyfriend's male ego the other night. What exactly does that mean?

A lot of males (and females too) require outside compliments to feel good about themselves. To stroke a guy's ego means saying something to him that going to make him good. Like, he's got a big d! ck, or he's so smart, or he's so strong. This builds him up inside. Sometimes it's not done verbally. Instead it's done by asking him to do something that a woman typically has a hard time doing, like asking him to open a jar who's lid is on real tight. This makes him feel needed and useful. This makes him "feel like a man". In fact, there's a dating guru out there who claims there are 8 magic words to "get the guy": "I could really use your help with something.” He's right.

It means loke you said something or did something that he's confident about or something so he tries to show off in a way... I think its used when a guy tries to impress a girl and tried to act confident and stuff around her
