So I told one of my guy friends that I liked him back in December, and he said he wasn't ready to date.

Now he's doing this thing when we walk together; he stops and looks at me and then starts messing up my hair. Then when I give him a hug, he hugs me back tight then walks away.

So is he testing me since he knows I like him? Is this a weird way of you guys to flirt?

I can't tell you what is on his mind, but I can tell you this.

It is a huge turn on for me to look a girl in the eyes and run my fingers through her hair. It would be difficult for me not to kiss her.

I guess a hug would be a poor substitute for a kiss.

It sounds like he's ready to date. I mean if he hugs back and makes contact like that he must like you and he knows you're interested. Probably the best thing is to go out with him but not make it seem like a date. Like say, "Hey wanna hang out suchandsuchaday?"
