What's with the 'you're my kryptonite' line?

I was in a relationship with this man, but twice now he has suddenly stopped talking to me. Both times he tells me it's because he's afraid of how I make him feel. He says I'm his kryptonite and that he doesn't want to feel weak or vulnerable. Is this just a case of him not being that into me? Or does he have issues? Do some men really freak out when it comes to truly caring for someone?

Oh wow! I actually used this phrase with my girl before. You see for the most part many guys are "player's" so we often see a beautiful woman and its mainly the physical part that we concentrate on. Then you have someone that not only beautiful but also you click with even more than a physical attraction. For a guy it can be scary because we are suppose to be "players" and all. We there she was...beautiful...me interested...and then...we connected a lot...I mean a lot...it scared the hell out of me because never had a woman done this before and so deeply. She was my kryptonite and made me more real...he's saying he's into you but he's having a tough time with accepting it all

So what do you do? I feel like he is like "heroine" to me... He told me I was Kryptonite and I was bummed out but couldn't not see him. We have had this dance going on for 5 years but got real intense the last 3 months... Then he vanished one morning about a month ago. Just mid conversation about plans that day-small misunderstanding I immediately changed course and apologized. He said he was working can't talk. No communication past then and I think I am blocked. What happened before that the texts were I love you and I am in love with you and you are in my heart, I think about you all day... I am so confused and literally feel like a drug addict missing what I needed. Help!

It's obvious. "You're my Kryptonite" means you have a tendency to blow up for no reason and then when you get near him he wants to throw up and slowly dies inside.
