A guy friend said this to me when we went clubbing, we were once involved but our friendship eventually became platonic, we're really good friends now.
He broke up with his girlfriend of two month about a week ago. He knows that I would never be interested in being friends with benefits or being his "rebound", so why do you think he'd say something like this to me?

Maybe he was joking but like I said, I would never say anything like that unless I was half serious or something. Then I go into attack mode.

Unfortunately this guy doesn't have the balls to tell it like it is and/or he doesn't have the restraint to know when he should keep his mouth shut. That's why you're confused.

Normally, it's an expression a guy uses on a special girl when he is feeling his oats and feeling real light on his feet at the time. And perhaps a little drink under his belt didn't hurt any either.
