My crush added me on Snapchat-should I snapchat him first or wait for him to do it?

So my crush added me on snapchat. He and I have made small talk and I've caught him staring at me and trying to play it off a few times. We have followed each other on Instagram for about the past 5 months and I posted a good selfie the other day and he liked it (first post of mine he liked). My snapchat is in my bio so I guess he added me from there, a minute or two after liking my Instagram. He has a girlfriend from another school but I noticed he deleted a few pictures of her and doesn't talk about her anymore so I think they broke up. I think he knows I like him or at least has an idea. I really want to get to know him, at least before the school year is over so that we can talk during the summer. Should I snapchat him or wait for him to snapchat me? If I snapchat him first what should it be? Keep in mind we haven't really made much conversation.
