Why is my boyfriend such a daddy's boy??

My boyfriend is 37 years old. He has a really close relationship w his dad fine, but their is a thing as to close. I pay all the bill's and some of his. I have my own house and we have been together for 3 years. His dad calls every 2 hour's when he's here. Makes sure he's not out of town. Makes him stay with him instead of staying with me. Does anything he can do to get his son down at his house. Let's his dad run his life. Then if we go out of town his dad comes with because he doesn't get out enough. Hello his dad has been married twice and they didn't work so what he doesn't want his son to be happy. My boyfriend says all the time that he is going to marry me someday but he has to spend as much time with his dad cause he's two other brother's don't listen to his dad so he has to because it makes his dad happy. What about what makes me happy do I matter? Help give me the answer's to get dear old dad out of his life so much and my boyfriend to see that he's to old to be a daddy's boy and start acting his age and stop making promise that he breaks left and right..Like I promise I will move in next week or I'll be w you tomorrow night HELP

Well this is intresting. Have you ever talked to him. There might be something in ur boyfriend that makes him feel obligated to spend time with his father. Maybe it is because his 2other bros don't help/talk to their dad which makes him feel upset for him. Personally, I think that family should be priority over any girlfriend or bf, but I do see how this is annoying. I would just have a conversation about his father with ur boyfriend cause there is most likely something that you don't know about. Good luck with it.

Well I did and about done w this whole thing it has been 7 day's since I have seen him. why because he need's to spend time w his dad he don't spend much time w him he say's. well he is on the end of my rope and about to be cut out of my life for good in the las 45 days I have spent 36 hour's w him and that is over the 45 days not at all together that here and their so what do you think that's about

Well I guess he has his priorities set. If it really upsets just say that you can't be with someone that won't spend time with you. You cerrainly have ur needs that are to be met and if he cant/wont do that ull find someone else that will. When you talk to him about it just don't say, "I want you to spend more time with me instead of ur father," cause that sounds controlling and bitchy.
