Why does my boyfriend treat me like a child?

Just came on here to ask as wanted it to be anonymous and friends don’t seem to get it.

my boyfriend of 6 months has been treating me like a child in certain ways some being in ways when I do things wrong or make a mistake. His reaction would be how you’d treat a child and feels extremely patronising and I don’t like it.
lots of comments made which makes me feel small and “less” than him or stupider or whatever.

also in how he speaks to me and his actions constantly and infront of people too.

have I done something for him to see me this way? Or are some men just like this?

Well, it's not really when you make a mistake, it's more so when you are acting stupid. A lot of women have this problem. And it might sound patronizing to you because most women don't want to learn about what's wrong with them in order so they can grow. But, if you're doing something to get that reaction, then it is childlike that you're doing that so why not treat you like a child if you're acting like a child?
But, if you're acting childish or stupid or head in the clouds I will probably better put that where a lot of girls do act like their head is in the clouds. And, maybe he's trying to get you to pay attention. And he's trying to get your attention so you'd pay attention. So you got to use words that are impactful so somebody will hear the words whether they like them or not. Versus if he said it in more of a gentler way and maybe he used to and you didn't pick up on it. Because that is a very common issue and then you got to resort to something when she doesn't realize the sun is out today. So, maybe he really wants to be with you and he maybe he wants to make your brain grow and make you grow as a human being. Because if you're doing that in front of him you're doing that in front of a lot of other people, and guys don't want their women to be left at. We would rather be laughing with our women. But, there is definitely a lot of childlike behavior and female stupidity and head in the clouds with women nowadays of any and all ages.

Have to break this down and look inward. Know that he don't mean harm by it as he just want what is best for you.

However, it's 💯 your responsibility to set the boundaries before you two became boyfriend/girlfriend. That means him doing things you don't like. You tell him. No 👎 you dis approve it.

So why do he act like this? Typically it's the nurturing factor. Much like chivalry. He's looking out for you. But that means you don't have to do nothing. Which can make you feel useless.

What to do? Besides the obvious. Beat him to it. Rewire the way you think. And learn to laugh it off. It's annoying. But it's cause your looking at it the wrong way. Hey don't kill me. Almost always when we are mad or annoyed with something. It's not them.. it's ourselves. Looking at enemy when there is none. Sad. We have to pay the price.

Most of what you describe can go either way depending on the details. Except where he humiliates you in front of others. That's never a good thing. And you're not married. You are staying with him for what reason? Because you're desperate? Maybe the fact you let him trash talk you over and over makes him think he should keep doing it. Your best bet is to leave the relationship. And if you want a good guy, it's best to focus on becoming the best female & later woman that you can be.
