How do you respond to flirting?

I'm not very good at responding to flirting. I don't know how to take a compliment other than "thank you," and I don't really know anything witty to say in return.

There's this guy who is just flirty by nature. I know for a fact that he's not interested in me (asked him), and he flirts with lots of girls. After I asked him if he liked me he backed off for a while but he's started to flirt again and I never know how to respond. (Today he wolf-whistled because I curled my hair nicely.)

How can I respond to him? What kind of phrases do you use to be flirty?

Real flirtation comes from being comfortable with a person enough to put yourself out there. Flirting is not the same as a pick up line and that is something that a lot of girls don't recognize. I like to think that if a guy is being flirty with you, that means that you have become close enough to joke yourself through normal boy-girl sexual tension. It is vital for men and woman to have a plutonic open friendship. When guys and girls are "just friends" there is always a nagging feeling of what it would be like to sleep together. Its not something serious or relationship envoking, but carnal thoughts will enter everyone's minds after being so close to someone.

Flirting is a great way to ease that tension, just don't use specific ideas unless your very close.

I have always been a fan of "that's what she said", great response to most lines, usually gets a laugh, and not suggestive in either way.

My personal favorite line has always been "It's not cocky, it's confidence".

So feel free to strut your stuff to your friend and the next time he says "who's this sexy lady?" you can confidently respond "the future ex Mrs. your friend" and he won't be weirded out.

Being flirty is about being FUN and not being funny, here's some examples:

What you don't want to do:

When he wolf-whistled at you, you respond by saying "Thank you big bad wolf, how are you today?"

What flirting is:

When he wolf-whistled at you, you respond by twirling in a circle (your whole body) and then flipping your hair, while looking at him dead in the eye with a smile, showing the interest you have in him. Then saying a simple "Why thank you sir"

Here's a few more ideas about flirting:

- He says "Who's this fine lil' lady?"

DONT SAY:

- "Who her?" *Then point to the next girl*

- "Umm, not okay" *Bitch glare*

- "Thank you, my name is jessica" *Blank face*

DO SAY:

- "Mmm, a sincere compliment. Sounds like I have a new stalker!" *Wink*

- "So proper?! Names are unimportant until I know you *wink* Join me?"

- "Haha, thank you for the compliment, but I think it's more important as to who you are?"
