I'm 28, I think the guy is mid 30s. His son is in my sons class this year but we have been exchanging glances since last year. I'm not sure how to talk to him and he's on his phone a lot while waiting for dismissal clearly talking about work. I want to leave a note on his car maybe saying something like I think you're really cute and would love to talk to you. Call me sometime. From the girl you have been eyeing up or something like that.. Thoughts?

No, that's coming on too strong - imagine if a guy did that to you. Here's 3 ways:

1. If you know where he is going to be, place yourself there early. When he arrives, give him the bedroom or puppy eyed look ;)

2. If your son knows his son, ask your son to introduce you to his classmate - try to do it when his dad is there.

3. You can approach, but do it smoothly. Simply walk pass him slowly, pick up on a intriguing detail and ask him a question. It could be complete BS, but it breaks the ice and comes off naturally.
- It is imperative that you do not use FULL Body language - only turn your head towards him (comes off a lot less intimidating for both of you)...

I'm not sure how older guys are, I'm not his age yet (27). But I can guess that I won't change much in 3-5 years.
A lot of guys might misinterpret what you want by saying "I think you're really cute, call me sometimes."
It could easily send the message that you just want to hookup.

How should I word it so he knows if he's not single I'm not trying to mess it up but if he is I would like some of his time not necessarily a hook up?

I think it can work. I did that to a girl in the community college when I was 21. She was not that hot, according to some but still pretty and to me she was almost perfect, anyhow it was at the final week, when left early and did not have time to wait, so I left a note in her car with my email, and she emiled me back. But I was so stupid and inexperienced, that I felt a bit embarrassed about having left a paper like they do in high school, that going against my friends advice in my reply email to the girl i said I felt like an idiot for using a note, and after that not only she did not reply to me but she must have deleted her own email because, messages I sent came back as undelivered.

Of course, as a female, you can probably get away with it, you won't be labeled a stalker or a creep nearly as fast as I was.

But STILL.. he would make some overture if he were really interested. Most likely he's taken. And it would be embarrassing, even for a female, to be caught doing this...

I think that is too assumptive of an approach for my taste. I would just go talk to him and say hello and talk about your kids and go from there. don't make this so complicated and don't assume his status or interest.
