What does a backrub mean?

I've been hanging out with this girl a whole lot the last few months. I really like her a lot. We've messed around a few times--nothing serious.

She told me Monday that she just wants to be friends and she's going to see this other guy. I was planning to respect that. But yesterday, we ended up spending the whole day together (AGAIN!). Around midnight we were watching a movie at my place, flirting nonstop as usual and leaning up against each other. Then she asked me to give her a back rub, which I did. I was pretty turned on before that, so after a couple minutes, I started kissing her shoulders and cheeks... Then she flipped out and got all p*ssed off. Probably not my best move of all time, but I want to know:

Was I out of line, or is was that a reasonable response?

You're just fine mate. Basically she just wants everything. You for back rubs and emotional support, other dudes for sex and stuff. That you want more is not your fault, and she shouldn't be spending all this time with you if it's not going anywhere. Don't apologise.

in any other case I would say that's out of line..but it sounds like she was sending signals and being little miss flirty. she should've known something like that would happen.
