What does OFFBEAT means?

one off my close friends has tagged me as a "little OFFBEAT person".

n my English vocabulary is not too good so ran for the dictionary but there I could only find the meaning of the term...i want to know what my friend is trying to say...don't want the meaning of word! so please help me people!

Quote simple, it's a term derived from music. Common songs or even parts of songs are ON beat. The off beat notes are those that fall during the times when the metronome is silent and are generally uncommon and sometimes seen as strange.

An offbeat person is like one of these notes, not really what people would call regular or a normal person but that ( and the term) are usually good things!

That's exactly it, if they are really a friend they will like the way you are different. And offbeat is VERY rarely ever used as a critesizm.

It means you're a little "weird", but coming from a friend they probably meant it as a good thing. Like, they appreciate your way of behaving and that you're different from everyone else.
