True, that would be a stupid move.
You're going to send mixed signals. If they like you, they'll actually back out once they know you're already interested in another person (your fake love interest) but they don't know yet that you're making them jealous.
All you're going to do is dig yourself a bigger hole. Don't do that.

sometimes people do this as a sign to see if the other person cares about them, it's dangerous as that initial feeling is sometimes seeked out and sometimes exploited too much which then damages the relationship

I've done it. and its so i can get her into a state of insecurity. then i can uswe that to my advantage. when the girl is feeling jealous, you make your mvoe and it usually works

I don't see how that would work out too well trying that on my crush because let's say I had a crush and she was hanging on a guy, I would take that as she isn't interested and I would move on.
