Basically a person you have a crush, and they too (possibly) have a crush on you too.
This type of behavior is prominent in inexperienced subjects. Especially those who are just starting to date and getting romantically involved.
This kinda feels counter intuitive to me. Because it can end up pushing them away in the end. Is there a psychological (or at least a logical) reason behind this behaviour?

No, if he's staring at me, sometimes I feel uncomfortable as he looks a bit stern so I'll just try to talk to who ever is near me. If it's a guy it may look like I'm trying something but I'm nervous and introverted so don't have the skill or capacity to play games.
