"Maybe we can do something"

What does that really mean? Does it mean he wants to or is he just saying it to be polite?

The context was, we were talking about plans for the summer and he said that maybe we could do something after finals were over with. We have hung out before, we're friends but I don't know if we're more than that. It's complicated and lots of mixed messages.

Just see if he likes you more, read the signal he's showing you, and try respond with that you feel the most comfortable with.

"Maybe we can do something" does exactly means what it says, he cares about you with interest and as a friend. He wants your opinion, but also "making a safe ground" for you two to stand at, like wanting to hook up with you in undecided time, when you feels for it.

Simply:

He likes to being with you alot, and wants to hang some more with you again, soon. But its all on your condition/decission.

lol as a guy, I can tell you with almost 100% certainty he has something for you going on, or at least wants to get to know you better. So if you're happy to get to know him, go for it! haha in fact, that's what I said to this girl I like, and I'm freaking crazy about her.

Just a side note: He's also probably a little bit shy and just trying to be a nice guy.

Well.. good question. Let me tell you something about guys, we aren't all the same. Some are confident and cocky, others are confident and nice. He was just trying to be nice... lol believe me, chances are, he's got something for you! g'luck!

Well the difference would be if you asked him to hang out and he said "maybe we can do something." Or if he brought it up all on his own. If he brought it up, he definitely wants to see you. Guys are afraid of rejection too ya know. He probably didn't wanna just be like "hey we should for sure hang out!" and you say no lol He wants to see you, don't read too much into it.

It means he wants to see you... Simple as that. As to whether or not he likes you.. that's tougher... I'd say there are some feelings there more than likely, but it may not even be a full blown crush.

I'd say wade it out a little bit, let whatever happens happen. There's not much you can do, but accept his invitation to hang out sometime. If he's genuinely interested, he'll show it.
