I didn't used to think much about marilyn, I thought she was just a slutty woman used by hollywood. But after hearing more about her life, you realize, that wasn't her she was just put into the blonde ditzy persona to appeal to the times. I think she was a sweet intelligent woman, who was more than met the eye. I really recommend reading blonde- joyce carol oates if you are interested in her, its the best book I've read so far :).
Hopefully with the new marilyn movie coming out we can get a gorgeous curvy blonde to do her justice!

I don't think I would make a judgment on who the most beautiful woman on earth is or was. There are so many different types of beauty and I couldn't possibly ever meet every person who has ever lived or that lives now lol just like marilyn was once a regular girl I think there are millions of girls who will never be famous that are just as pretty if not prettier than she was. I see girls on a daily basis who are just as pretty imo. To each is own. She was gorgeous so I can see y you think so.

she was sexy and intriguing. very beautiful and she went through so much. she was iconic for women but placed into a certain role and subjugated. she had a lot of issues stemming from her childhood and had that sad longingness to her.
and for the guy who keeps trying to convince everyone that marilyn was fat -- please, not every woman has to look like a prepubescent girl just to suit your fancy *rolls eyes*

She was gorgeous, and had a genuinely curvy figure. SHe had a legitimate hourglass figure. True she was a size 12 I think, and had a pretty small waist. She was stunning. I think she also had a way of being magnetic and your eye was drawn to her and she had a way of pulling you in when she spoke.
However, she had her demons such as drug use and obvious problems beneath the surface so its important we don't glorify her completely and ignore the fact htat she was a human being.
Mhmm, that's very true, I respect her though and I associate with her in many ways and I'm a lot like her, minus the sex and prescription meds, but something about her draws me in and reminds me so much of myself.
i honeslty don't like to "look up" to anyone. I want to do what's best for me and do things I think are grand. but, if I had to choose someone to look up to, it'd be marilyn monroe. she had real beauty and was genuinely smart - not only about boys, but about her career. I see what you are saying, but I messed up by saying pain killers, I meant sleeping pills because she couldn't sleep, she had high anxiety. And I don't believe she overdosed, I believe she was murdered actually and from what I have read, it wasn't just her that caused her death. And drugs in my definiton are weed, heroin, meth, cocaine.

I'm guessing you know quite a bit about her, I never have bothered to read up on her. The few movies I've seen her in she was quite a sissy but that was a very bad time in US history racial segregation rampant sexism. Perhaps it was just an act by an actor but never the less that's her image so I never noticed her as any thing but an icon of a bygone era.
