Guys, Why would a guy keep returning eye contact but never smile or approach the girl?

Well, I'm the kind of guy you describe. I have a huge crush on a girl in one of my classes, but I am so awful when it comes to breaking the ice. I'm not really a shy; I just crawl into my shell when it comes to girls I think I might really be interested in.

The guy is probably like me: too nervous. He doesn't smile, probably because the nervousness makes it hard for him to smile, or because he's afraid it might creep you out.

I am going through something like that right now. We are glancing at each other a lot and I am sure that she want me to talk to her but I am waiting for the right moment to approach her. Maybe that is what other guys do as well.

Yeah maybe but this has been going on for months, so i don't understand why a guy would just keep looking at a girl for that long and not do anything more.. i mean if he's not interested why would he keep making eye contact with me? is there any other reason for doing that?

Maybe they're shy? Maybe they're trying to tell you things through they're eyes... usually if it's not smiling in my opinion they're really attracted to you
