maybe he's more of a hug person, is this a professional environment or just casual? i think a hug probably doesn't mean too much as it's often just a friendly gesture. did he ask for your number? are you still in touch? those are probably more important signs than the hug.
I don't know we don't hug in my country just kiss the cheek. I heard in America hug was like kissing cheek in my country so I would say it's only being friendly.

It depends, some people are "slutty huggers" and hug just about anyone, some offer handshakes to their SOs.
I'm not a hugger but I wouldn't read too much into it. Nothing more than at least he doesn't dislike you.
Can go both ways. Maybe it was a friendly gesture, maybe he's into you. Just that alone isn't a clear indicator that he likes you more than a friend.

It really, really depends. It's more rare in my opinion for guys to hug girls goodbye than to hug them to indicate interest, but it can happen. Don't read into it too much
