What does it mean when a guy friend keeps touching you?

I have a close male friend who has recently started being affectionate with me. Like suddenly asking if he can get a hug or if he can hold me, touching my hair, holding my hand, etc. We have both made it clear from the beginning that we are both looking for friendship. When I brought it up again that we are just friends and nothing more, he agreed with me and said he was just giving me a friendly hug. And he even knows there is another guy I am talking to and said he is happy for me. So I am really confused as to the sudden change in his behavior and what all this touching means.

He wants to have sex with you. Every (single) male friend you've ever had has wanted to have sex with you, even if they didn't try. This guy is trying - he's hoping that the intimacy will break through your defenses and get you horny and attracted to him. He knows that LOTS of women tell themselves (and the guy) that they're "just friends", but that women very often change their minds in the heat of the moment, so he really doesn't care what you SAY.

You are dealing with a MAN here, and men, unlike women, LIKE casual sex and do NOT need romantic feelings or an emotional connection in order to want sex. As long as he finds you attractive, that's enough to want to bang you.

This guy is attempting to be your best friend to remain close to you. He knows more isn't going to happen immediately but he has hope that showing you his nice, affectionate, sweet etc. side your interest will steer away from just friends
