I personally haven't and always considered it a TV troope, but now I think it's possible that it can happen (not that it happened to me, but I think a guy was instantly smitten with me at one point). Have you and what do you think?

Yes actually! My boyfriend was a new guy at work and I just had to introduce myself to him. It was my first time ever doing that. And ever since that moment we couldn't stop talking and keeping our eyes off each other. And we are together now. 🙂

You become smitten with the idea of who that person could be, not with that actually person.

Unless you are really good at figuring people out by a first impression.
