Should I send a friend request to my neighbour on FB?

Hey,
to the question:
I have a neighbour who is a few years older than me (I am 20) and I never talked to him that much, just hellos and sometimes small talk.
I want to add him on fb but I don't know if it comes out weird, cause we've been Neighbours for 10 years now and have Facebook for ages and I just now send him one?
Plus, maybe he thinks we're not that close to except me.
What would you guys think if your neighbour (like me) would send you one?

(The reason why I am asking is because I like him... it's not that deep but still. I don't want to embarras myself if I send one and he is creeped out (or thinks that I might be hitting on him that way idk) by that cause... we're neighbours and we can see eachother everyday after that. You know?)

First out of my head : she interested or have some kind of feelings towards me.
So if you're not don't add him because it might confuse him.
And in any case next time you see him try to have a longer convertation with him... and see where it goes from there.
