How do you hug a guy that says you want to be more than friends? But not in a creepy way?

To answer the first question, it's probably not going to make much of difference. Hugs are spontaneous and guys generally don't have enough time to process the difference between a "normal hug" and a "let's be more than friends hug".

Remember that we're not as quick when it comes to picking up body language, and we don't have a little video we can play back to look for these clues we might have missed. Plus, the hug itself distracts our minds from looking for these clues. Obviously, if we happen to catch you smiling in a certain way when you hug us, then we'll remember that, but there's a good chance we may not notice in the first place.

Other things even more subtle that others are mentioning (length of hug, tightness, etc.), I can almost assure you that a guy will not notice.

To answer the second question, there are two things you can do which will help him figure out you like him:

#1. Spend a lot of time around the guy. Keep in close contact. Find out what he's up to, and if he happens to be doing something special on the weekend, ask if you can join him. Don't make excuses for why you're always hanging around him. Eventually he'll come to his own conclusions.

#2. Make sure he knows that you're single and not gay. You may think it's obvious, but I've met a lot of girls who had boyfriends and basically hid it from me. If he's a smart guy, he won't get his hopes up until he knows it's worthwhile to do so.

To answer the original question, hug normally (front to front), but hold it for like two seconds (actually pretty long I think). To answer the update, flirt, but especially do things that really show you're flirting, like even hold our hand (if you are already friends with him, that shows you like him - or at least I think so - and if you're not actually friends, you can touch our arm a lot or something.

Honestly, I'm not the right person to ask. I tend to be somewhat closed about my feelings and would much rather spontaneously combust than admit my feelings for anyone. I'm not so much criticizing you for not just telling him (I know I could never do such a thing...) as for expecting these hints to work, because odds are they won't.
