His friends look and smile at me. Does that mean he likes me?

The guy I like in my class, we barely talk. Sometimes he'll turn around and say things to me, or stare. When he stares, I stare back. He and his friends check me out. He's gotten quiet recently, and hasn't shown any interest. However, his friends will smile, tease me jokingly, and wave. His friends give me more attention then he does. Do they smile because they think I like their friend or because he likes me? Is he still interested or not? thanks
