Why don't guys approach me?

[my usual appearance : I wear natural looking make up (eyeliner, a bit of cover up and sometimes mascara), my hair is long and healthy but not that neat, I'm short (5"1") so I usually wear wedges that make me about 5"3", I'm tone, small waist, bigish butt, medium bust, normal weight (typical pear shape). I usually wear things that dram attention to my waist and butt with something that stands out like a bright red coat for winter or just unique looking little bits like a necklace etc.. ]

On the street guys stare, make eyes, smile, check me out, say to their friends something "she's really pretty". In school guys do the same, they also tell me I'm cute, flirt with me etc... But they never make it go any further, if I make the move they will make a bigger one back but I always have to start it and the guys always acts all weird and shy after a while :/ so why would guys not approach me and make moves?

Honestly from my point of view, I would be too afraid to fall in love with you... Even though your really pretty, and if your personality is good. Its because - In a guys mind we truly are afraid of getting too emotional ... So we don't get hurt... Most girls these days only love men for their money or power or fame .. and this is what men fear the most, in fact we despise this, that's why their are some men that completely lost hope in women because no matter how much a women would tell a guy how much she loves him, he would still doubt that she does - its been like this for thousands of years in human evolution... anyways, men might see you as pretty, but its because your so pretty that they are afraid of falling to deep in love. (or this is just how I feel - I can't really judge other dudes on how they feel, cause everyone is different, except we are all connected by the feeling of fear)

p.s - If a guy is to shy to talk to you, then he really likes you! -- you need to go to him - cause he would never have the guts to come to you... the fact that he is shy is extremely good!

This seems to be a common question among girls on this site. I think it has partly to do with the fact that many guys simply don't go after what they want for many reasons, fear of rejection, or they assume you are already taken or out of their league, which is complete rubbish. IMO, a confident guy(or girl) goes after what he/she wants, and is completely cool if he can't have it, but at least he/she tried. One thing I have learned from experience is that most girls REALLY want the guys they are interested in to come up and talk to them, and they will rarely initiate contact first. Another thing to consider is your age, I know when I was in high school, I was very insecure about myself and would look, smile, and talk about pretty girls I liked, but I would never go and talk to them if I didn't know them already. There is nothing wrong with you, from your profile pic you appear very attractive, and I think many guys may be intimidated by your looks. Consider this a high-quality problem, haha.

maybe they are intimidated or what not. Some guys don't have the courage and like to just look at you from afar. Sometimes try not to be aware of things like your whole surroundings and thinking too much about why a guy doesn't approach you. Do you often approach a guy? Maybe try that. Sometimes opening up makes them a little closer to you and maybe one guy might consider dating you then. If your crowd of guys don't do anything then be the one to open up to them and when you have more guy friends you'll understand stuff more. You know your attractive. For example.. I don't care when guys don't approach me but I approach guys I like (not always in a crush way) and feel like mingling with. Guys are easy to be with I find, more than girls. Anyways, I just open up to them and some of my guy friends end up telling me that other guys have been crushing on me etc and are just chicken. Guys can tell things when they are comfortable with the girl then you think, somebody has liked me all along, it's not so bad. Plus you're still young, just have fun being single. I sure like it.

When girls make the first move it is so much easier for everyone involved. It tells me she wants me to talk to her and I know its okay to open up and be me. When I have to approach a girl its such a nerve-racking, guessing game with my feelings and ego on the line.

its probably because they think your hot and guys ae intimided. guys never go up to me and my guy friends would say they didn't go up to me because I was to hot that guys are afraid to go up to me.

Just a thought.

1. The most attractive girls have the fewest dates - everyone thinks there's a waiting line or she's out of my league ... until you build a network.

2. Your network begins with guys that are shoulder to shoulder with you doning something you both like - other than being quiet in class. This means sports, hobbies, dance, hangouts where you are thrown together w/o options ... so there's no big deal in getting to know each other.

3. Once you know a few, you get to know their friends that interest you ... thus a network begins.

4. Once you begin dating steady, your network might stall.

Consider the things you like to do other than dress up and begin to haunt those spots.

I looked at your pic and you are nothing short of gorgeous. So don't think that it has to do with your looks. The only reason why I wouldn't approach a girl like you is cause I would think you would reject me, I would think you've already got someone which it surprises me you don't. This guy hits the spot - pay attention! For the exact same reasons, I wouldn't approach you either. You need to be more open with guys, encourage them to hold conversations with you and smile more at them when they smile at you.

Are you open? Like does your body language or how you show how comfortable you are say show that you're interested? Because that's my problem. People never come up to me to talk or seem comfortable around me just because of the way I look all the time. I rarely smile at anyone or make eye contact. If someone does actually come up to me I kind make it seem as if I'm uninterested. Just a suggestion or something to think about is to make it seem like you are comfortable with the people you're talking to. I don't know how you are socially so its just some advice that may or may not apply.

2 things... 1. when girls go around lieing that they have a boyfriend just to blow off guys you don't want, we up with crap like this, good looking girls we all assume have bf's right off the bat ... 2. guys deal with rejection way more than girls realize a lot of us are easily intimidated and if it looks risky we don't bother most of the time. it could be my personality, because I tend to say pretty much whatever I think (not in a rude way), like I will say to guy if I think he is being cheesy or weird and I tend to give bitchy looks with out noticing, so could that do it? also I know look wise I don't think I look intimidating

the look thing is rare it only happens when people I hate are around, but I still don't get it, its not like I'm stuck up I'm nice to people in general, smiley, I laugh make jokes I hang out with plenty of guys (as friends) but if it comes to more its like they are scared of me :/

I will never approach a girl standing near her guy friends. I have no trouble going to girls I am attractive too and starting a conversation, but trying to get her number with her guy friends there or sometimes her girl friends is embarrassing.
