Remotely attractive?

I've just heard of this word, remotely attractive and have no clue what it means because I don't speak British English.

Can someone please tell me what does remotely attractive mean?

- If a guy tells a girl she's very beautiful, lovely, cute and very, very, very hot. Does that mean he really likes her and wants to be her boyfriend?

Remotely attractive means not ugly but not beautiful either.

"remotely attractive" is also used in american english. usually used like this: "if he found her even remotely attractive, he didn't show it" or "she is not even remotely attractive..."

Thank You. So basically it means slightly attractive. I never heard anyone say it in English, that's why I got confused. Thank you so much for clarifying my confusion out.
