Obviously I’m not going to take his hand as in keep it for myself—need to get that out of the way before you witty ones come in and make a joke about it.
Anywho, here’s the situation. Next week my friends and I are going to watch the movie “Us” which is a rated R horror/ scary movie. I plan to somehow get talking to my crush right as we walk in the theatre, walk right behind him, and plop myself down right next to him.
I’m like 7/10 sure he likes me (they aren’t great odds but he’s a more shy guy so I take what I can get) and plan to like, over exaggerate how scared I am and like grab onto his hand or arm or whatever.
Should I do it? Any recommendations for when or how gradually/how sudden? Has anyone done this before & if you have, did it work for you? I’m just really trying to make the first move and maybe this would be sufficient.

Initiate physical contact in a horror movie is a great idea. If he likes you he will certainly love it. I had a girl do this to me and I was hers, but she did it right. Here are some things you must think about though. First he might not have his hand where you can easily access it. So when the jump scare comes if you grab it it will seem forced and that is not the idea. Start with something else. Bring popcorn, offer him and them keep them on the arm rest on his side. He will unconscious keep close to you so he can reach them. That way when the jump scare comes, you "get scared" grab his arm and get really close to him. DON'T KEEP THERE TOO LONG! Just do a playful laugh as you gat away and check his reaction. Chances are he will be laughing too and will not be bothered at all. If the feedback is positive at this point you should be closer to him and he will be confortable with that. This already creates some tension. So now his hand must be close also thanks to the popcorn. Keep track of where it is and when the jump scare comes grab it. He will be more startled by this then the movie. Keep holding and if he keeps holding too Jackpot!!! Note that you guys don't even need to look at each other after holding hands, as long as neither of you let's go you know how the other is feeling. Make a joke of it. Tell him if he's afraid of the dark and the movie is too scary he can hold your hand. When you grab his hand tell him you did it out of concern for him and that he's welcome. Don't let go.

do it!! try to read his body language directly after you grab his hand/arm. if he seems happy, continue holding his hand/arm, and after some time, maybe shift to a more comfortable position. if he doesn't seem particularly thrilled, let go. make sure you do it during a scary movie moment - that way you'll have a legit excuse for holding onto him.

DO IT If he asks why and after seems not interested you can always tell him you were scared but I would admit my feelings. This could be a way to tell him you like him but not really
Don't over exaggerate it. Just have your hand resting on the arm rest when his is and when something scary happens use it as an an excuse to clutch onto his hand. Don't look at him or face him, just hold onto his hand firmly for a few seconds and then release pressure but don't completely let go. Hold on to him.
Be spontaneous. If you feel the urge to grab him , do it. That's if he doesn't grab you first.

it wasn't really similiar to yours, because first of all we weren't alone. And I didn't get to sit next to him so... yeah... nothing happened. I did grab his arm after the movies, trying to be flirty with him, asking what he thought of it etc.
Yeah especially if it's a horror movie. Just grab his hand in a joking way and say hey we can do this if one of us get scared and just see how he reacts to you.
