Do guys lick their lips as a sign of flirting?

This happens to me on many occasions and I’m bad at taking hints of when someone is trying to flirt with me. But I had a few guys lick their lips and smile while talking to me. This guy was just talking to my co worker regularly , and the. He turns toward me to have conversation and does it. How do I know if a guy is flirting with me or just trying to have conversation lol?

It could be chapped lips. Or a bit of a tick. But it's most likely to be interest. This is what body language experts say.

But don't just rely on that. Look at all of his body. Try to zoom out from just listening to his words and looking at his face. Where are his hips pointing? And the feet, what direction? You want things towards you, not trying to escape/leave the conversation. (Although a person can be one foot in and not sure, but still sticking around.) Does he mirror any of your movements? Direct eye contact? Lastly, smiles, but those are just one of many things, not necessity.

I think it is a subconscious attraction, licking the lips prepares the person to kiss and do other things. The above statement is not always the case, you should look for other signs of attraction to confirm it
