Why does she turn away when I make her smile?

I like this girl a lot and she seems to be sending me signals. She is usually playfully mean to me and very sarcastic. A lot of times when we are talking and having fun I would make a funny comment and I can she her smiling really wide and turning her head (or sometimes her whole body) away but I can see she is clearly smiling and then she stops and goes back to normal. Why is this? She doesn't really do it to anybody else, she will smile at them and tell them how funny they are but with me is almost like she doesn't want me to know I crack her up and will give me a serious look until I look away and THEN she smiles. what's up with her?

lol for a second I thought this might be a question on me. I do this ALL the time to the guy I like. I think she does this because she doesn't want you to know how much she likes you. She's probably extremely taken aback by you, you make her want to smile and laugh so hard but she doesn't want to come off ditzy or too head over heels. I'm also very sarcastic and playful, and I do this again to not come off too interested. Do you act overly confident with her? This could be why. Just try to show her a gentler side of you and let her know you're interested. She's playing it cool because she's shy. And if she's anything like me. She likes you. Alot.

Yeah, I act confident with her, almost cocky but I've asked her if she thought I was cocjy and she said "no, you are confident" and other times she will tell me "nobody likes a showoff" haha. I'm almost positive she likes me and people get a kick when they see us arguing about stupid things, they start laughing and telling us we are like 2 little kids. I just wish she would let her wall down. I've been able to get her to say things that she wouldn't really say otherwise (to me), like missing me.

Haha yes I know. It's hard for us types, like the girl your talking about. To let our guard down. Sometimes you can get us to say nice things to you, but only SOMETIMES. Again, we want to appear cool. What I would do, is give her a compliment, flirt with her, but try and be serious. If she thinks your joking like usual she won't take you seriously. Ease her into it, let her know how interested you are so she can feel more comfortable and break down a few barriers. :)

I think its time to take it to the next level... why do guys do that? Now that You know you have her attention, you should strike when the iron is hot ask her for her number continue being friends and then ask her out. What do you have to loose?

Well, the main thing is that she seems a lot more comfortable talking to other people. She will initiate conversations with them with no problems but with me its not until we have been quiet for too long that she'll say something, and something is really pushing it, its more like random comments haha, so I don't know what she is thinking.

I agree with dudeawesome. That's just her way of showing you she likes you. I do it all the time to guy's that I'm into. I can't really explain why. I guess its kind of a shy thing = )

that's just how she shows she likes you, I used to have a friend almost a girlfriend that was just like this she would always smile and laugh if I tickled her or said something funny but she would verbally say I hate you even though I knew and she knew that was completely untrue, it's not you it's just how some girls are.
