Only compliments me over text?

So me and this guy have an on and off again thing (long story) and he always gave me these super sweet compliments (your the most beautiful girl ever and the whole 9 yards) but he only said this stuff over text, now this really bothers me because I don't know if he means it if he can't say it to my face, should I confront him for it or count my blessings for having such a nice guy in the first place?

Few reasons I've have done that..

1. nervious

2. Because of my friends.. I complement my friends who are girls an the act funny for a little while..

3. Because of her friends.. Again this goes to the nervious thing.. I have a hard time flirting around her friends..

But while texting I feel like she's the only one who can read it so If she rejects my compliment only id know..

I do that too to a girl I like! It's just that he's really into you and get's to nervouse to say it in person, I guess it's just the "Shy Guy's Curse"!

He's probably just shy and feels kind of awkward about saying it to your face. Give him a 2 or 3 years to grow up a little and he sounds pretty decent.
