I can really only think of 3 reasons a guy would just stop flirting with a coworker.
1. Seeing someone new and doesn't want to risk it or lead you on.
2. He got the vibe your not into him and he doesn't want to feel rejected
3. Boss/supervisor caught on and asked that it not continue

It’s far too much of a risk to be flirtatious, especially if he’s in a higher position now. As a guy, a sexual harassment accusation is a fatal blow to your career, doesn’t matter if it’s real or not, it’s safer for the company to just get to get rid of you.

Thats the exact opposite of what I meant. If you like him ask him out, just to see where he is on it. No offense, but as a woman you are totally immune to any repercussions to asking a guy out. The way the modern work culture is the "asking out" must come from the women.

Men have so many responsibilities already. Whatever it may seem like, if he not talking to you its because he doesn't like you or is too scared ( not worth your time) If I really like a woman I make the relationship casual enough that I can jokingly ask her out with no hard feelings. I only encourage women to also ask out guys because then your not just waiting around for the man. No man would wait around on a woman he liked!
