What do you think it means when a guy acts really interested, and other times he completely ignores you?

Ive been talking to this guy. sometimes he acts really interested and we talk for hours.. but other times he ignores me and acts like he could care less if we talk or not. we BOTH initiate conversations, so I know it's not me just scaring him off. help please!

p.s. - could I be a back-up girl possibly?

Maybe you are only a friend to him. You could ask him about it. That is the only way you could find out what is going on.

haha, that's my problem lately. The guy I like at times talks to me a lot, and at times just completely ignores me...So I got tired and I don't talk to him or initiate to talk to him anymore
