Does it mean anything if a woman proposes one of those "if we're still single by 30" pacts?

Hi all,

So I (22M) was walking home with this friend (20F) of mine (who I have a crush on, which she knows by the way) and she, kind of out of the blue suggested that if we're both still single by the time we're 30 that we should marry and have kids, because she thinks I'll be a great father. I played it off jokingly, kind of like "sure, but for all the special tax exemptions" and I changed the topic.

My question is whether or not that's something to look into? I read somewhere that a woman wouldn't make that sort of proposal if there wasn't a base level of attraction there, if so, I'd rather start dating her now rather than at 30 😂

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!

Your take on it is correct. A woman wold not make a proposal like that to a guy who she simply could not envision as a long term partner, so it means that she feels some interest in you now. And if that interest is mutual, what good reason is there to wait another 8-10 years? You've got the chance now so go for it!

Brig it up by not bringing it up. You could try the direct approach and start that conversation, but you don't need to do that. At the end of the evening, just tell her that you would like to see her again soon and suggest that you will call her to schedule another dinner soon. Then wait about one to two days and call to arrange the date for the next weekend. Instead of talking about it, just create the opportunity for it to happen.
