How does noticing a lack of a wedding ring impact your interactions with the opposite sex?

I always forget to wear mine, and I wonder if it really makes any difference at all as to how people interact with each other.

Since I am old and live in a remote area, I really don't have to worry about this problem.

I used to wear my ring all the time - happily so - but, some days, it just annoyed my skin and/or I was feeling bloated. I asked my wife if it was OK if I didn't wear it. She was fine with that. In fact, we both agreed that she should NOT wear her ring because it is expensive but she does a lot of physical and outdoor activity that likely would damage the ring or that might even cause an accident if it got caught on something.

I haven't worn my wedding ring in about 2-4 years now, but you can still see and feel a bit the indentation in my finger caused by wearing the ring for almost 20 years. So, even though I am not wearing it, it's almost obvious that I was.

I'm currently in a committed relationship so I don't even pay attention to whether other women are wearing a wedding ring. But if I was single and I met a woman to whom I felt attracted, I would certainly be looking for a ring and then I'd try to determine whether she was currently in a relationship. And I would do that fairly quickly so that my interest/intentions were obvious. I'm not taking a chance on getting friend zoned because I move too slowly!

Guys my age can wear rings for any reason , I don’t think I’d know if it was a wedding ring or just decor — I only look on older men who are looking lonely, I hope to see ring it makes me feel better.

I'm not sure, not every couple get married anymore, so lack of a wedding ring doesn't necessarily guarantee a single woman.

I wouldn't ordinarily approach a woman who is sitting alone in a bar/hotel, but if I did and she engaged with me positively, I wouldn't care about wedding ring.

Its possible a married woman on a business trip might want a hook up due to something lacking in her relationship.

A lack of ring is not really significant but if I spotted a big engagement ring with a wedding ring I knew enough to steer clear.
I actually knew somebody who used to wear a wedding ring so guys would not hit on her.

If don't see a ring I might be more flirty or assertive to get her name and number and ask her out on a date. I also try to find out what her dating situation is. If I see a ring I usually try to find a girl with out a ring I am no homewrecker.
