One of my coworkers often compliments my hair, outfit, shoes, personality, physical appearance.. and today he told me he liked my nails lol. I said thank you and blurted out, " you're so nice, you always give me compliments. I'm gonna kidnap you." And then he laughed a little and said sure. Omg I felt so dumb for saying I'm gonna kidnap him. Would you think your coworker was weird for saying that? What would you think?

I sincerely think he’s trying to flatter you in order to get your confidence. He sure has some type of attraction to you, I don’t know if his intentions are more or less lewd and the grade of sincerity of his sentences.
I suggest you to keep see if he continues, or if he after some time lessens his compliments or if he tries to impress you with more compliments… because it’s easy to find if he’s only faking it, if he appreciates EVERYTHING if you it’s fake, I think it’s impossible to appreciate everything of a person.

I was thinking about that, like maybe he's just pretending with the compliments. I've been there a year, and like once week or every two weeks he compliments me on my hair... clothes... But its always when I actually put in the effort to look nice so that made me think he actually notices lol

So if he does that only when you try to be better, maybe he’s being honest since he notices and appreciates. I think that if compliments are only about appearance or things like that maybe he’s not faking it. Keep an eye on his acting.

I wouldn't read too much into it, but if he likes you (romantic/dating interest), he might see it as a potential "sign" you like him back? May not either, but possible. But otherwise I'd just assume you (she) likes the compliments and nothing more.
