Guy advice please?

He’s 36, I’m 23. Back when I was 21 and he was 34 we used to kinda date & hookup. At the time he was a very sweet guy and was nice to me but after awhile we slowly drifted apart and stopped talking for whatever reason I don’t even know. I think I was just moving on at the time and I was very immature and etc. Well its been about 2-3 years now and last night i had a dream about him and I don’t ever think of him really so i don’t know i know its just a dream but i’m thrown off by it. This single fake dream of him has given me butterflies about him all day. And i do miss him but i dont know. last time i tried to talk to him it went like this. That was 4 months ago. He hasn’t tried to contact me again. Should i try again or leave it be? Here’s our last convo below (he owns a car business)

He seems really genuine and into you as well. Now I know I don't know what went down between you guys and what caused you two to drift apart (you're welcome to fill me in if you feel comfortable about it), but from those screenshots you posted, it really does look like you guys left off on a good note and everything seems all right.

Now I'm no expert on dreams nor do I believe what most of these crazy dream tantrics say, but it's said that when you see someone in your dreams, especially someone whom you haven't been in contact with for a while and someone you were once close to romantically or otherwise, then it usually means they really miss you as well and they want to get back in contact with you. Think of it like a sign from God. It happened to me once as well.

In conclusion, what I think you should do is call him up and try catching up and setting a date. Something casual, like meeting up for coffee maybe or some drinks. Just the two of you. Don't reveal too much on the phone amd just tell him you wish to catch up and that it's been a while since you guys hung out and ate/drank together. If he really does miss you back, he won't waste any time in saying yes. Then when you're both alone and the moment feels right, tell him about your dream and how you feel.

Honestly I’m basically the same age as you, and definitely let it be. I think it’s a red flag that he was 34 and wanted you at 21. That is a big indicator that he isn’t looking for anything serious. I’m not sure of your agenda, but if you are looking for a relationship, I wouldn’t go for someone that is 36. It most likely drifted off because he got what he wanted and didn’t feel the need to reach out after that.
