Well if holding hands is followed by a good hug or if a hug followed by holding hands then it definitely means it is more than just platonic. It means the person likes the other genuinely and has an interest in them and that interest is not just sexual.

Holding hands is something I see as very pure, soft and delicate gesture. Overall a great one.\
