How guys react to compliments?

Do guys see the compliments just a compliments or flirting?

I got one friend who i complimented him a lot like: You're good, your look is good, your skin is youthful...

I don't know if i made him uncomfortable with my words.

In my country we compliment a lot, if we don't do it, it's like we envy each other and sending the evil eye.

Actually i meant every compliment because he looks cool and sympathetic, but i didn't mean to flirt and make him uncomfortable because we were in friendship relationship.

I'd smile, thank them and find something genuine to compliment them about.

I wouldn't necessarily take it as they're flirting with me, because in many cases, people give compliments without intending to flirt. So I assume its not flirting to be on the safe side.

Guys Don't get compliments generally tbh... And compliments culture don't even exsist in them tbh... Haha

I'm a girl , i complimented a boy.
In my country if we don't compliment that mean like we feel angry about what you get and we are higher than you. So we say: mashaallah you look good.
But that person i don't say mashaallah, i only say you look good... And i mean it really.

It catches me off guard and then I just assume she's going to ask me to do something for her. More times than not that assumption has been accurate.

If I'm complimented by a woman that I'm not dating, I'm more suspicious than anything. I'm waiting for her to ask me for a favor because that's usually what ends up happening. I don't think that's she interested in me, but I also don't consider them to be genuine compliments.

But I do appreciate compliments when they are sincere.
