I have taken a leaf from my boy Butthead here to break the ice numerous times and it has worked as a funny way to ease into conversations that were awkward or nerve racking to start. Used to be able to do a pretty good impression too.

I did use the Animaniacs' "Hello Nurse." once on a nurse and she thought it was funny. Other than that I don't think I've ever used one.

LOL no because I just don't use them. I simply say Hello and believe it or not that usually works quite well.

I mainly use wit when it comes to flirting, and I would agree. I specifically used the example above as an ice breaker not to be taken seriously and to loosen up.

In effect, there are no pickup lines. Either a guy has the looks, desirability, etc. or he doesn't. If a movie star chooses to pick up an attractive girl, whatever he says works. If guy is a potbellied overweight low-income slob, there e nothing he can say that will work with an attractive girl. If a guy is borderline acceptable, then what he says may make a difference. For example, one attractive guy said to an attractive girl, "My last name is Roberts, would you like for it to be yours?" That got her attention but only because she found him

I don't use pick up lines, I usually just try to talk to them like I would anyone but online I get exhausted having to try to think of something other than hi to engage them. I'll usually ask about something in their profile but more times than not it just get's ignored. I'm so tired of having to try to entertain someone I don't know right off the bat instead of starting a normal conversation.
