Why do girls always go to the bathroom in groups?

Question

I'm having a serious debate with a girl about abortion and she notices 4 of her friends giggling on the way into the bathroom and tells me: "hold on I gotta go, I'll be right back" And rushes in to do who knows what.

Honestly I think you guys must have like the best toilets in the world to be laughing that much, Or you must have the bathroom walls lined with pictures of Justin Bieber to make you all giddy or something.

What's going on in there? Why do girls always go in groups?

Personally:

1. If one person is getting up to go to the bathroom, often it means that there's a break in the conversation, so it's an opportune time for me to go too. Sometimes it's that when someone else gets up to use the bathroom, I realize "Hey, I have to go too", so I figure I might as well go with them.

2. If we're in a place I've never been before and I don't know where the bathroom is, we can find it together, or maybe they've been there already and can show me where it is.

3. Sometimes when you go into public restrooms, you don't realize that there's no toilet paper until after you've already peed, or you find out that the lock on the stall is broken. It's nice to have a friend there to hand you some TP or to hold the door closed for you.

Huh. This is the second time I've seen this assertion. I don't think I ever go to the restroom with a pack of my friends with me. I heard a theory about how going in groups assures that there's a kind of "commercial break" in the conversation. Like, if one person went, they'd miss what was being said, but if a group of people go, the conversation is on hold, or some sh*t. It's definitely nothing to do with the quality of girl's toilets. Public restrooms are disgusting for the most part, unless you're in a fancy restaurant or something.

So they can giggle, chat in front of the mirrors, whisper over the cubicle, take photos in the mirror, do their hair, do their make up, chat some more, and finally emerge half an hour later, looking like they just came out of a beauty parlour.

To catch up on all the gossip, the toilets are the mothership of gossip and plus we help each other fix our hair and makeup :) yea that's pretty much it but in case you where wondering the Walls are lined with pictures of Ian Somerhalder :)

Girls have this thing if we go out somewhere and a friend is near its like a code saying get up and come with me... this is so we can check ourselves and make sure each other look okay and/or tell each other what is going on and that we will finish the rest later... why we do this I have no clue at all
