



I think you played it really well. Just back off now and give him space like you said. He’ll think about it and make a decision. Don’t be cold to him. But don’t actively pursue him very much either. If he makes plans outside of work, great. But I wouldn’t make those plans yourself.
Longer term, and eventually, yes, he needs to make up his mind and make a decision. But it’s totally fine and acceptable for him to not know at this point. Don’t let him lead you on with his indecision forever, but give him space in the short term.
How much older than you is this guy? Are there other complicating factors like divorce, kids, supervisory responsibilities, etc?
20 years. There's no other factors. He works at the same level as I do
