Is a motorcycle ride too intimate with a married man?

I hooked up on fb last night with an old friend of mine whom I dated over 35 years ago. We never had sex. We always had fun together, though. He is married. I am divorced. I don't know much else about what's been going on with him all these years. He doesn't seem the type to be a cheater. Today we are going on a motorcycle ride to visit my sister about an hour away. I assume it is just as old friends. Do you think there is more to it? What is he thinking? I don't think I'd want my husband having an ex-girlfriend on the back of his bike, holding onto him...It seemed like a fun idea and I am looking forward to going. Am I making more out of this than it is?

I wouldn't make a big deal out of it unless he or his wife is. However, as you mentioned, since the only way to ride as a passenger is by holding him (unless he has a sissy bar, then you can get away with hands on shoulders), it will create an awkward situation, but I recommend just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. My boyfriend loves to give people rides on his bike, and I don't mind, but we're still young and willing to lose brain cells in dangerous ways.

Any way you frame it though, motorcycle rides are fun. I don't think it's a bad decision.

Thank you for your sage advice! So tell me-what does one wear on a summer afternoon in New England on the back of a bike? I'd like to catch some rays but want to be safe, too...hmmm.

I have only been on a motorcycle once before in my 55 years of life. And I was 18 at the time.

You're supposed to wear safety gear: jacket, leather pants, helmet --just in case of an accident.

In looking for old friends on Facebook, male and female, I came across him. He accepted my friend request. We chatted on line for about an hour about many things-nothing inappropriate. He called me this morning and now we're going on the motorcycle. I don't want to be naive. Why am I trying to 'pull' something? I don't want to do anything out of line or give hiim the wrong impression. If he was single this would be a non issue. Why are you sounding so obnoxious?.
