Is it a casual lunch invite or more than that?

Anonymous

The other day I was attending a workshop with few of my work colleagues and it happened that one of the coworkers- lets call him R was there ( we are becoming good friends and we are mutually attracted to each other but hopelessly shy).

I was talking to him and few others, when I mentioned that I will finish the story I was telling after we finish at the end of the day. Suddenly R asked me and another female colleague if we would like to join him and his friend for lunch to continue our discussion.

I accepted the invite and I thought it will be a near by cafe or something. It turns out that he has taken us to highly reviewed Italian restaurant which took us 30 minutes walk from where we were. As I was reading the menu, he told me "don't worry this restaurant does only seafood dishes". I was surprised for two reasons, one for choosing an Italian restaurant ( Italian is my favorite cuisine and previously he commented he doesn't like italian food much. Also, choosing a seafood specific place as he knows that I don't eat beef or chicken).

Was everything a coincidence or am I analyzing too much? I know you guys might say that I need to ask him directly which I am planning to do, but very keen to know now what was that about. In sum, do you think this is a casual lunch invite or more than that?
