Confused on this guy?

I've been talking to this guy on a dating app said early last week

Later in the week we had this convo

"The other night, we asked each other what we were doing, and it turned out that we were both starting workouts; he was going climbing. Later, he asked how my workout went, and I asked him the same, mentioning that I'd love to try climbing someday.

He responded, "You should try it; it's fun. I'd be happy to go with you sometime if you wanted."

So I took it, that was he was of indirectly asking me out. We spoke over the weekend, then Sunday night he said night for first time and put x, so I put one back.

I know it doesn't mean anything, but apart from him saying I look amazing in his opening message then hasn't been any other flirty type messages.

He message again last night, addressing me by my name which he hasn't done since the 1st message, asked how I was and if I still wanted to meet?

Which I did still want to meet so I said yes.

We worked out what night were both free later in the week and then he turns round and says, do you want to go climbing or meet first to get to know each other a bit?

I didn't know if he was prefer meeting first so I said i'm easy you pick.

So he said I'll have a think and let you know?

We haven't stated on our profiles or spoke about what where looking for, but could I take it that he's looking for something more than a one night stand.

Just freaking out a bit as I'd planned we'd get to know each other while climbing not face to face over a drink or food.
