Have you ever just liked someone for so long and you just dont know why?

like the question says I just liked this guy in my class for so long ever since litteraly 5th grade and now im about to be going into highschool and its weird because its not like im idolizing him or anything I know he's an asshole (by the way were in this weird enemy type relashiship its weird) and I think he's cute but not like the cutes like normal peopel think about there crushes so is it normal to like someon this long? and do I love him more than it being just s simple crush?

I've been a similar situation before. I enjoyed spending time with a guy when I was in elementary school, later I didn't understand why I was asking shy around him. He was a gentleman, super smart, and sweet, I like this about him. I later learned that I had developed feelings for him in middle school, regretted not asking him out in high school, and he currently has a lover. So, yes its normal to like and admire someone for a long time. Some questions to consider is do you simply like them for their looks or is there something else? Are they in your thoughts frequently? Do you have "butterflies" or a strange feeling in your stomach when they're around?

If so, it probably developed into a crush.

I don't know though if its just a crush there always on my mind i definitely dont like them just because of there looks (he's pretty average looking but has a nice body and is really tall) I don't know all my other friends that have crushes and my few crushes before this I've never felt like this and all my other friends only crush on someone for like 3 months at most I don't know.

Yeah, when I was younger I googled how long a crush lasts and it says 3 months. I never understood this, probably because it depends on the individual. If you like someone superficially, it lasts within that short amount of time. However, if you like them for a longer amount of time, its probably love.
