What was he thinking while looking at me?

I have a crush on this guy and during the lecture break at university, i was sitting at my desk, while he was standing down there near with his friends.
I always observe him a bit during lecture and i thought that would be the perfect moment to oberseve and admire him, since I could see him so well and he probably wouldn't notice, since he is involved in a conversation.

Than all of a sudden he began to look at me. I got nervous and looked away by turing my face to the right. I than looked back at him and he was STILL looking. I again turned my face to the right then and looked after that to him and than he was STILL looking and slowly got his eyes off me and focused on the converdation.

-i am now worried, that i might have observed him way to obvious and that he noticed and looked at me because of that.

-i also worry, that he knows now that i have a crush on him. I think i told him by looking at him and than looking away multiple times and always looking back at him.

I mean, staring at someone is a situation so common and still somewhat ackward that i dont think he will notice for just one instance. When the same happens to me, i feel kinda suspisious, but if only happened once, i dont think anything of it (i am kinda slow though, so i may be wrong).

Ok and any ideas WHY he was looking

Maybe he wanted to check if you wanted to look at him again because he noticed. Again, i think that's very common situation (i sometimes don't realise and stare at people), but he may be suspicious. Next time dont get shy, keep looking, he may react in some way. Worse case scenario, he will think you just get easily lost in your mind. At least that's what i would do.

Im gonna be honest with you, im a real coward. Every girl i was interested in, i have never done something until it was too late, except for a cople of instances. And i can tell you, i am more regretful about not have done anything that about having screwd things up (and im not saying that will be your case), just have that in mind. What would you regret more?
