my crush and I made eye contact for a split second (and when I say split second it was actually really short, like less than 1 second, but that's also because I looked away first). this happened twice, and it both happened when he was standing somewhere behind me and I turned around. was this all a coincidence？

Depends on if your crush is shy.

If he is shy you might want to initiate a random conversation on something of mutual interest.

If it was on purpose he will welcome the talk, if it was coincidence he will probably act indifferent.
