What are some questions or conversation starters I can ask a guy in the talking stage?

He’s always asking me questions, but honestly I can’t think of any to ask him in return.

I just basically want to get to know him better.

I need some questions & conversation starters for in person & over text.

Some degree, you have answered your own question. You must take an interest in him, and to do that you post questions, or talk about your own life and listen to his reactions or comments.
Perhaps you encounter each other at a familiar place on a regular basis, you could talk about why you happen to be there or ask him why he is there.

Usually guys would come up with questions, you just need to answer them in playful way. That works for me.
