How important is body language to you in determining if someone is attracted to you/in the mood?

It's important. But not so important as VERBAL communication. I don't care how much a woman flirts with me physically. If you don't tell me you like me you're getting stonewalling. All you come off to me is a manipulative tease and that's just annoying. If you want to know me you've got to be willing to risk something. And so few women actually are willing to do that.

and way more often than not, a clear clue that she really is into me...

and also one of the main reasons why I don't date online, or leave it to texting either...

Very important! It's fun reading body language. I've read and studied it. There's a good book by an ex-FBI guy, forget his name atm.

But I have to admit, I've also consistently underestimated men's interest. I can read people well when I have distance (especially when they're on TV and I can focus on them exclusively), but when I factor myself in, I have not known. Men think women are too subtle sometimes. I must be a dunce cause I only would know a guy was interested by the words he chose to say. I used to joke they have to conk me over the head and drag me off to their cave, lol.

It seems wise to not get wrapped up in guessing others body language. Are used to have a rule when I was in my early 20s: the waitress is only being kind and flirty in order to earn a better tip. And that's fine with me, because that's how they get by. I got shut down so many times by misinterpreting somebody's body language and even word choice. I think it's much easier when somebody verbally expresses interest and makes it very clear.
If more people would do that, the dating scene might be a bit simpler these days.

I like friendly waiters. I know it's just a thing, but I also smile back and never give them a hard time. Seems like a sucky job. Don't want to make it harder for them.
Yeah, I definitely prefer to err on no assumptions. Although it's something more than preference, lol. I just don't see it.

I notice everything. Whether it be someone’s tone of voice, their energy, or body language. If I notice even the slightest change, I back away.
