My coworker likes to joke a lot and he’s about 10 years older than me and he thought I was younger like 19 but I’m really 22. We were talking about personalities with my two other girlfriends from work and he said I was sweet. And he said there’s different kinds of nice people where it means you’re nice but not that attractive and then other kinds and then I asked which one I was and he said I was bubbly and had a really nice personality and emphasized that I had a nice personality. Then he said I’m really the first one. I visibly got offended and said “did you mean the unattractive one? I’m not ugly, I’m pretty” and he laughed and my coworkers got silent and awkward and one said “you are” but it was awkward. They stayed quiet and were eventually like “he’s just messing with you. You’re reaction is funny, that’s why”. He clarified eventually and was like “you’re bubbly and have a nice personality”. but then after some awkwardness he said I was actually very attractive and said it seriously and walked away. It did sound believable when he called me attractive. I know I’m not ugly because a lot of people have called me pretty or beautiful without question and I don’t think I am but why did he bring up my looks? Lol. I asked my two friend coworkers and one of them said he was obsessed with me and only does that for me and they both said he’s obsessed with doing it because he likes to get a reaction out of me. Why did he say this though? Lol. I don't know if was he just using an excuse to call me attractive. The thing is though, he has a fiancé. He hasn’t told me about his proposal but told my two other coworkers ( the ones who think he’s obsessed with me and my reaction ). Today I tried teasing him today jokingly and told him he should leave and he jokingly got offended and blushed and then came to my coworker and told her about his engagement pics while I was next to her, which I thought was weird because he had all day to tell my coworker? Why does he act like this?

Maybe I’m wrong but doesn’t sound like he genuinely likes you. You basically in my opinion pressured him into saying yes you’re beautiful. Because you got offended at what he said w you being the first one. Did he say it jokingly that you were the first one? If he did then he was just messing w you, possibly likes you. The sad truth is a lot of women think they’re pretty or 10s because they say they’ve been told that. Usually it’s their female or male friends who tell them that cause they don’t want to hurt their feelings.
But I’ve been told many many times that I’m pretty lol by random people so that’s what threw me off
Many many people like men or women? Both? Sometimes people are just being nice. If other women are telling you that it’s hard to believe cause women like to lie to each other. They don’t want to hurt your feelings.
Both but mostly women. I used to hear it all the time at my last job, I was a cashier and people would go out of their way to tell me most days. I doubt that many people are just being nice unsolicited. It’s not like I asked first lol, they would just randomly tell me while I was minding my business.
But you have to understand a lot of women will say a girl is pretty based on their standards from a girls point of view. Not from a man’s POV, which is usually would I fuck her or not. Does that make sense?
