I like this guy that I work with but not sure if he likes me. What should I do?

I’ve been working with this guy for a couple months now right along with this other guy (there’s 3 people including me on our shift). He’s really cool and funny and makes me laugh but I’ve seen that he’s like that with pretty much everyone. I remember during our break we were going out to our cars and he asked me if I wanted to go get Starbucks with him and I went with him. We went through the drive through and he offered to pay for both of our coffees. I also noticed that when another coworker talks crap about me or disrespects me, he defends me sometimes, which I don’t know how I feel about that. I appreciate him doing it but I feel like I can stand my own ground. Fast forward to today, he had just switched over to another shift and he asked me if I was gonna miss working with him. I don't know if I’m overthinking this but at the same time I don’t want things to get awkward or uncomfortable at the job. What should I do?

It sounds like he might be into you, but it's hard to say for sure. Here's what I would do:

- Pay attention to how he interacts with other coworkers, especially girls, and compare it to how he acts with you. Does he single you out in any way?

- Try engaging him in some casual flirty banter and see how he responds. A light compliment here and there could give you clues.

- Suggest hanging out outside of work casually as friends - like grabbing that Starbucks again. See if it feels more date-like.

- Drop some subtle hints that you're interested and gauge his reaction. If he seems into it, you have your answer.

- Don't make a big move yet in case you read it wrong. Feel things out a bit more first.

- Worst case, even if he's not interested, I doubt things would get too awkward at work. Just play it cool.

Not wanting things to be awkward or whatever at work would be the top reason why I avoid office romance. Wait until one of you is the job. I’m not sure what his intentions are, not even sure if that’s all under the idea of flirting but I know at work sometimes it’s harmless but convenient.
